He's White!

Okay so I know this may sound pretty bad, but a couple months ago I heard this interview on the radio with the DJ interviewing Justin Beiber (a new and upcoming music star who is only 15 years old). I absolutely love this kid. Pete doesn't like him so much. So today I was thinking about the song and the interview and wanted to know what all the hype was really about (besides being so good and signing with Usher). I looked him up on YouTube to find the infamous video that is making him such a hit, and I find out, HE'S A WHITE KID!!! I totally wasn't expecting that. I totally thought he was a black kid. Wow, what a suprise, I've never heard a white kid sing like that. Here's his official music video for his newest single "One Time".

I know I am SOOOO behind on posts...sorry, but I had to take the opportunity to say that despite my back going out on Tuesday, being in pain ever since, and being sick to my stomach for the past few days as well, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to go see NEW MOON.

Loved it Loved it LOVED it.

I had a really hard time with TWILIGHT but they did a much better job on this one. Though I still think they picked a horrible actress for Bella (Kristin Stewart) her on-off-again off screen relationship with Robert Pattinson (Edward) certainly takes their onscreen romance to a whole "nother" level.

And I have to say, before the movie, TOTAL AND COMPLETE 100% EDWARD fan, but now, seeing NEW MOON, I have to admit I'm leaning a little toward the wolfman. Of course, seeing him with his shirt off for most of the movie didn't hurt. The book just didn't push me towards Jacob (Taylor Lautner) at all but maybe I need to re-read the series again. Maybe I'll take advantage of the time I'm spending flat on my back.

P.S. Thanks babe for taking me! You are the best!

ANYWAY, hope everyone enjoys it!

Halloween Costumes...

I loved our Halloween costumes this year. Jense was the CUTEST pirate I have ever seen (sorry Jack) and everyone cheered for him in our ward costume contest. Unfortunately he didn't win, because there was a cute little girl with a super cute STORE BOUGHT pirate costume who could barely walk across the stage, so everyone voted for her. But Pete won the pumpkin carving contest (and only had to compete against my Lightning McQueen pumpkin) because no one else in our ward brought pumpkins for the contest. I still think that if I had brought Edward, I would've won, but he fell off the haybale on our porch the night before and broke his jaw. Oops! The only other unforunate for us was that during the actual trick-or-treating process, NO OTHER ADULTS DRESSED UP...so Pete got to walk around getting some fun, and some annoying (seriously, does no one know who BUDDY THE ELF is?) comments. Poor guy.

P.S. I forgot to give major thanks and props to Pete's Mom (Laurie) for making Jense's entire pirate costume, including the super cute "Joseph Smith Style" shirt, and for all the work she did on Pete's Buddy the Elf jacket!

And for you Twilight fans...

What would this Halloween holiday be without a little vampire love?

So Far Behind...

Okay so I know I have weeks of blogging that I need to do, but given the upcoming holiday, one of my favorite I might add, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to blog about the main holiday event of PUMPKIN CARVING. I really wanted to up my level of difficulty this year so I found some "example" pictures of carvings that I really liked. Now, given that I really wanted to do these carvings, yet did not want to PURCHASE the patterns, I had to hand draw the patterns on to paper first (from a picture on the computer), then re-draw them onto the pumpkin (some by hand, others by cutout stencils). Let me just say, my fingers really hurt, but I'm SO proud of these babies. Pete's pumpkins are "Melman" from Madagascar, and "Victor" and the "Corpse Bride" from The Corpse Bride. Mine was "Lightning McQueen" from Cars.

Okay, here's the deal with this picture. The background is 5 different pictures found in google images from random sites. I used the wheat field from one, 2 stars from another, the sky from a different one, and the manger from a site for a company that builds them. The hay stack Christa is sitting on is from another picture. The angels were all in individual pictures. The 3 kings, all together in one. Mary, Joseph, and the baby were all together in one. And the 3 shepherds were in 3 individual pictures. TOTAL PICS to make this Christmas card: 14 images.

the "mane" event...

Since Pete and I aren't planning on going on any get-aways together once we get back to Rexburg, we thought we'd spend some time, just the two of us, here in Alaska. The Lion King (national tour) is showing in Anchorage this month and since neither one of us have seen it, we thought we'd go. It was AMAZING. I had a hard time with both the Simba actors but Rafiki was the most talented person I've ever heard on stage. Wow. My jaw dropped when she sang. P.s. pictures were found using Google. Not taken by me.
